The Face Off
The Face Off is one shot I never intended. While many of my shots are planned and executed over months and even years, this one was spur of the moment. Catching two local hockey players in their element.
I had heard Lake Louise had frozen overnight and shot out there for a skate, however when I got there it has snowed about two inches, meaning the crystal clear blue ice was gone for the winter.
Disappointed I began skating around in the snow looking for a composition with no luck until I saw these lads playing hockey on the newly frozen ice.
The leading lines were just a bonus in what would have been an interesting shot regardless, and ended up being a terrific raw moment captured.
